EUGENE, Ore. – UC Riverside finished its season-opening three matches in three days on Friday evening with a 7-0 defeat to Oregon. 

The Highlanders went quickly in the doubles portion of Friday evening at the Student Tennis Center with the tandems of Joshua Roth/Antreas Djakouris and Ryan Huynh/Daniel Velek each picking up a point in doubles play. 

Five of UCR's six singles matches went in straight sets, but Djakouris's play on two was the lone bright spot with a match-tying win in set two before forcing set three to a tiebreaker. 

UC Riverside returns to the SRC Tennis Courts on Wednesday, January 25 for a 2:00 p.m. match against Hope International.
