
Women’s Golf Completes 36 Holes at Harbottle Invitational

TACOMA, Wash. - UC Riverside opened play at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Monday with 36 holes, entering Tuesday's final round tied for ninth at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UCR shot a 297 (+9) in round one and 299 (+11) in round two.Â
- Mitzi Duarte was UCR's leader after 18 holes as one of two Highlanders to shoot a 74 (+2), joining Mylan Hirata. Duarte parred eight of nine holes on the front nine while Vanessa Betancourt parred seven of nine on the front nine.Â
- Janna Andaya shot a 72 (E) in round one and followed that up with a 73 (+1) in round two to enter Tuesday tied for 11th as UCR's leader in the clubhouse. Betancourt also shot a 73 (+1) in round two.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Andaya started the day with back-to-back birdies in round one and ended the day birdying seven of 36 holes.Â
- Betancourt parred her first three holes of each round, as UCR is sixth in the field with 59 pars entering Tuesday. Â
- Duarte kept the card clean for the first six holes of round two while Hirata started with a bogey before parring seven of her next eight holes with a birdie on one.Â
