Women’s Basketball Falls at USC

LOS ANGELES – UC Riverside had its four-game win streak snapped on Sunday evening at the Galen Center with an 85-53 loss to USC.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Jordan Webster led UCR at halftime with eight points on 3-of-8 shooting, going along with an assist and a rebound.  
  • Matehya Bryant had four of the Highlanders' 12 rebounds at the half, adding six points at halftime.  
  • UCR found a spurt of offense late in the third quarter with a 9-2 run, going 3 for 3 from the floor with a pair of triples from Webster and Zoe Tillery. The Highlander offense was stride for stride with USC for the final 20 minutes in a 37-all affair.  
  • Webster picked up her second 20-point performance of the season and UCR's fifth with 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting with three rebounds, four assists and a steal. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

  • UC Riverside outshot the Trojans in the third quarter and sank a trio of threes in the process after connecting on two in the first half.  
  • UCR enjoyed its second highest three-point and free throw percentages of the season at 41.2 and 83.3, respectively. 
  • Webster's five made threes were the most by a Highlander in a game this season. 
  • Jordyn Marshall led the Highlanders off the bench with seven points, going a perfect 5 for 5 from the free throw line.
