RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside dropped a 67-52 Big West opener to UC Irvine on Thursday night at the SRC Arena. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Jordan Webster started perfect from the floor with all seven of UCR's early points in a 7-4 advantage.  
• The Highlanders shot an efficient 50% from the floor in the first quarter with a 66% clip from three and an 80% clip from the free throw line. UCR held the Anteaters to 26% shooting on the other end of the floor.  
• UC Riverside went on a 5-0 run in the third quarter with two free throws from Webster, who inched closer to her third 20-point game of the season.  
• UCR held a 7-1 edge in points off turnovers in the second half. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

• Webster reached 21 straight games of 10 points with a game-high 19 points on 5-of-17 shooting. The senior was one rebound shy of her second double double of the season.  
• Matehya Bryant grabbed four steals to improve her nationally ranked season average, also registering four rebounds and 12 points on Thursday against UCI.  
• Jaden Sanderson grabbed a season-high five rebounds for the second consecutive game.
