RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside returned home to host Portland State, falling 4-3 in a close battle at the SRC Tennis Courts. 

Portland State took the doubles point from UCR despite Kamya Nair and Serina Saltzen scoring a 6-3 win on court three. 

UCR made singles interesting after a missed opportunity in doubles play. Brionna Nguyen and Sydney Tran each pushed the Highlanders ahead with bounce back victories, while Nair picked up a straight set win on three. UCR and PSU were deadlocked at three all with Sofia Lazzaroni battling on court four. The senior went ahead with a 6-2 win in set one, but dropped sets two and three. 

UC Riverside is Arizona bound now for a 1:30 p.m. match with Grand Canyon on Wednesday, February 8.
