Highlanders Fall at Grand Canyon

PHOENIX, Ariz. - UC Riverside joined the Highlanders' men's tennis team in the desert for an afternoon match at Grand Canyon, dropping a 6-1 decision at the GCU Tennis Facility. 

Serina Saltzen and Kamya Nair held a 4-1 lead on three before the Lopes clinched the doubles point. 

Sofia Lazzaroni continued her consistent battling through the early season, falling in straight sets while forcing both to a tiebreaker. Meanwhile, Sydney Tran collected the Highlanders' lone singles win for the afternoon with a 6-3, 6-1 win on six. The Riverside native improved to 3-1 on the year in singles play. 

UC Riverside is back in action on Thursday, February 9 with an 11:00 a.m. home match against Westmont at the SRC Tennis Courts.
