PALM DESERT, Calif. - UC Riverside is through 18 holes at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate with Maddox Yi currently in the top 20 at the Classic Club in Palm Desert.
Yi (1-over 73) birdied holes one, three, 10 and 18 on his way to a tie for 19th entering Thursday's second round, while Minjae Park also birdied three in addition to four and six.
UCR is six strokes outside the top 10 and two behind 11th-place UT Arlington, while Nik Kittleson (5-over 77) is one of nine players in the field with at least 14 pars.
