IRVINE, Calif. - UC Riverside wrapped up its 2022-23 road schedule on Thursday night with a 56-45 loss to UC Irvine at the Bren Events Center.
UC Riverside held their own in the first half in Irvine, as Matehya Bryant led teh way with six points and six rebounds in the first half in addition to a steal and block. Bryant, who last time out became the first Highlander since 2018 with five blocks in a season, cemented her spot in UCR's Division I single-season top 10 in rebounding.
Zoe Tillery's recent added value off the bench turned into a second straight start for the freshman from Sacramento, while Esther Matarranz picked up her second straight game with at least six rebounds in addition to six points, an assist and two steals.
Jordan Webster put up her third 20-point game in her last five and fifth overall this season with 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting with four threes. UCR got its signature third-quarter burst with a 41.2 percent shooting clip out of halftime, outscoring the Anteaters 18-17 in the third.
UC Riverside will host Senior Day against Cal Poly on Saturday, March 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the SRC Arena on ESPN+.
