Individual Performances Highlight Day One at Torrey Pines

SAN DIEGO - UC Riverside completed day one of the UC San Diego Invitational and is tied for eighth out of 15 through 36 holes at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego.Â
Josh Hu (67-70-137) recorded his 14th and 15th rounds of the season at or under par, and now has the most such rounds since Sam Gillis' 16 in 2015-16. Hu is one of two Highlanders in the top 10 entering Tuesday's third round, sitting in a tie for sixth.Â
The senior carded his seventh sub-70 round of the season, and has now shot at least one round in the 60s in all but one tournament this season. Hu also carded back-to-back rounds in the 60s for the second time this season.Â
Eric Cho (70-68–138) is tied for 9th as the other Highlander in the top 20 after 36 holes. The junior has now shot at least one round at or under par in three of his last four tournaments and recorded his lowest 36-hole score of the season.Â
Cho carded three birdies and an eagle in round one before going virtually bogey-free in round two.Â
Nikolas Kittilson (74-68-142) posted by far his best 36-hole as a Highlander, going into Tuesday tied for 26th after a massive 38-spot jump in the leaderboard with six birdies in round two.Â
The UC San Diego Invitational will conclude on Tuesday with round three from the Torrey Pines Golf Course.
