SAN DIEGO - Eric Cho made it three rounds out of three under par, finishing in a tie for seventh as UCR finished 10th at the UC San Diego Invitational at the Torrey Pines Golf Course. Cho (70-68-70-208) was one of two Highlanders with a top-15 finish at Torrey Pines, as Josh Hu (67-70-74-211) finished in a tie for 14th.
UCR's 1 and 2 in the lineup, the duo combined for eight birdies in round three - four apiece - while Cho carded an eagle on 17 after birdying 16. He also had the second-lowest par 5 scoring average at 4.25.
UC Riverside was one of three teams in the field with at least three eagles, as Cho accounted for two of them. The junior's 208 was his lowest 54-hole score of the season while tying the best finish of his career at tied for seventh.
Maddox Yi (73-75-72-220) shot his lowest round of the tournament with an even 72, and Peter Zhang also shot his lowest round with a 5-over 77.
UC Riverside will compete at the UC Santa Barbara Collegiate Invitational, April 10 and 11 in Goleta at the Sandpiper Golf Club.
