Highlanders Clean Up on Men’s Basketball Postseason Awards

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside men's basketball grabbed a plethora of postseason awards following one of the most historic seasons in program history.

Mike Magpayo was named the Big West Coach of the Year, the first time in program history the award has gone to UC Riverside. Lachlan Olbrich was named Big West Freshman of the Year, while Jamal Hartwell was named the Big West Sixth Man of the Year.

Zyon Pullin was named a First Team All-Big West selection, while Second Team honors went to Flynn Cameron

Hartwell and Cameron's leadership were on display in Zyon Pullin's five-game absence, in which the Highlanders went 4-1 with a road win over UC Santa Barbara and an 18-point comeback win at UC San Diego when Hartwell scored a career-high 30 points.

Pullin, who joined UCR's 1,000-point club this season, ended the regular season ranked in the top six in Big West play in scoring and assists, while Olbrich was one of three players ranked in the top five in conference play in rebounding and field goal percentage and the only freshman.

Cameron led the Big West in three-point field goal percentage with a .417 clip, while also pacing the conference with 2.7 triples per contest.

UC Riverside locked up the third seed at this week's Big West Championships for the second time in the last three years, and will face No. 6 UC Davis on Thursday, March 9 at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN+ and SiriusXM 381.
