Softball Falls to Boston College

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside played just a single game on Monday afternoon at a windy Amy S. Harrison Field, falling 5-3 to Boston College. 

Haylee Kela went 2 for 3 at the plate with a run while Leah Brito drove in two of UCR's runs as a pinch hitter for Rebeca Cabezas. Brito's bases-loaded single through the left side broke up what began as a pitcher's duel through three innings. 

Maddie Heinlin was dealing from the circle to start the afternoon, going 6.0 innings with four strikeouts before being roughed up by Boston College's offense.

Nearing the end of non-conference action, UC Riverside will host its third east coast opponent in the past week with a doubleheader against Western Carolina on Wednesday, March 8 starting at 12:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
