RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside grinded out a 4-3 win over UC San Diego on Friday afternoon at the SRC Tennis Courts. 

UCR won its first doubles point since February with the tandem of Justin Lamy and Joshua Roth prevailing 6-4, while Antreas Djakouris and Mathew Yanuck scored the 6-3 win on three. Roth and Lamy grabbed their first win together on the season in six tries.

Yanuck took care of business in singles play with a straight set win on six.The grad transfer was one of three Highlanders to grab a singles win on the day, joining Lamy and Daniel Velek. 

Velek went unfinished in doubles alongside Aarav Sane, but picked up his third straight set win of the season, following up a tiebreaker first set with a more convincing 6-3 second set. Sane, meanwhile, traded tiebreakers with his opponent on five before conceding set three. 

Justin Lamy clinched the match for UC Riverside on four. Lamy dropped set one but forced a tiebreaker in sets two and three before giving UCR its first Big West win of the year. 

UC Riverside will host UC Davis on Saturday morning for Senior Day with a 9:00 a.m. first serve from the SRC Tennis Courts on ESPN+.
