Highlanders Enjoy Short but Successful Weekend in La Jolla

LA JOLLA, Calif. - It was a short but successful weekend for Highlander track & field this past weekend at the Triton Invitational with a couple of personal bests following for UC Riverside's throwing crew.

Karyssa Owens finished second in the discus throw with a 48.78m that overtook her previous personal best of 48.07m at the Ben Brown Invite. Melissa Toilolo also set a personal best in the discus with a 40.59m.

Shiloh Corrales-Nelson also finished third in the shot put open with a 15.15m, a new personal best good for fourth all-time while also putting in a 40.29m in the discus open.  Kienan Donovan put in a 15.10m in the shot put as the only Highlander to compete on the men's side. 

UC Riverside has a busy next slate of competition, competing at the Mt. SAC Relays (April 12-15), Bryan Clay Invitational (April 13-15) and Beach Invitational (April 14-15).
