SAN DIEGO - UC Riverside hit the road for their first away game of 2023 season on Saturday night at University of San Diego in an 0-0 draw. The match was originally scheduled for Sunday but was moved up in order to avoid inclement weather from Hurricane Hilary. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Samantha Ritchie threatened first for UCR with a shot on net in the third minute. 
• Neither team was able to convert an opportunity in the first half, with UCR getting three shots off, with two on target while USD had four shots, with two on target.
• Torero defense shut down Highlander offense in the second half of the game. UCR got just one shot off in the final period.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

• Cassia Souza shut down the Toreros in the net, facing 18 shots and making 10 saves.
