SACRAMENTO, Calif. - UC Riverside and Sacramento State battled for 90 minutes at Hornet Field, with both teams trading shots until the Hornets found the net in the 66th minute. UC Riverside had 13 shots with six on target while facing 11 shots with six on target from their hosts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Giselle Uribe got the first shot off for the Highlanders in the 12th minute, landing on target, only to be saved by the Hornet's keeper.
Daphane Mendez and Lavinia Vaipulu each got a pair of shots in and Jazmine Mendez threatened once before the end of a 0-0 first half.
Braelynn Llamoca got off the first shot in the second half in the 49th minute, followed up with an attempt by Spenser Gonzales in the same minute.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

Cassia Souza made five saves against Sacramento State, who put up 11 shots in the 90 min match.
UC Riverside's 13 shots (six on target) were a season-high, outshooting the opposition for the second time in as many games this season. Vaipulu, Mendez and Spenser Gonzales and led the way with two shots apiece.
