BOZEMAN, Mont. - UC Riverside wrapped up its season-opening road trip to Montana with a 4-1 defeat to Seattle on Saturday at the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Justin Lamy and Joshua Roth gave UCR the 1-0 lead in doubles with the 6-4 win on one. Aarav Sane and Lucas Mszyca forced five rounds of a tiebreak on two. 
• Sane claimed his first singles win of 2024 with a 6-4, 6-1 win on four while Roth surged ahead first in his singles bout with a 6-3 first-set win on one. 
• Lucas Ibarrondo Suarez was tied 6-6 in set one when his match was abandoned. Joey Zhou made his collegiate debut and led 5-2 in set one when his match was abandoned as well. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

• Mszyca gave his opponent fits for the second straight match, this time in doubles play alongside Sane.
• Joey Zhou made his UCR debut on Saturday against Seattle.
