RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside opened the 2024 on Saturday afternoon at the SRC Tennis Courts with a 7-0 defeat to Colorado.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• UCR's veteran duo of Sydney Tran and Niki Shahbazi put up the biggest challenge in doubles play with a 7-6 defeat on three.
• Crystal Kim forced a tiebreak in singles during her collegiate debut, going four rounds of play with her opponent before conceding on court three. 
• Tran showed fight in singles as well with scores on 6-4 in both her sets. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

• Kim and Olivia McIntosh-Adams made their UCR tennis debuts on Saturday. The duo teamed up for doubles play on court two.
