RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside wrapped up the 2024 season on Thursday night at the UCR Soccer Stadium with a 1-0 loss to UC Irvine.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• UCR's defense was up to the task against Irvine's early high press, putting heavy coverage on the ball at every opportunity. 
• Christina Sidoti stymied UCI's counterattack in the 25th minute with a punch of the ball before grabbing it out of midair, all after the Anteaters won possession in the midfield.  
• UCI opened the scoring just out of halftime with a header in the 47th minute.  
• Mimi Dominguez recorded the Highlanders' first shot of the night shortly after, setting up just outside the six-yard box and aiming for the opposite corner.  
• Dominguez and Sanaa Guyness recorded UCR's second and third shots later on, both from the top of the 18.  
• The Highlanders cleared a UCI free kick well over the halfway line, and Dominguez raced up field to meet the loose ball before hitting the side netting in the 83rd minute.  

NOTABLES 

• Dominguez registered three of UCR's four shots on the night and finished her freshman campaign with 33 total attempts.  
• Sidoti made her third appearance in net for UC Riverside this season.
