RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Barrington Hargress scored a team-high 20 points to lead the UC Riverside Highlanders to a commanding 69-52 victory over the Alcorn State Braves on Sunday afternoon at the SRC Arena.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Barrington Hargress scored a team-high 20 points to lead the UC Riverside Highlanders to a commanding 69-52 victory over the Alcorn State Braves on Sunday afternoon at the SRC Arena.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hargress shot 6-for-13 from the field, including 4-for-9 from beyond the arc, and added two rebounds and three assists. The Highlanders (4-3) capitalized on strong rebounding and solid perimeter shooting to secure the win. Nate Pickens chipped in 14 points, hitting three 3-pointers and grabbing four rebounds, while Joel Armotrading pulled down 12 rebounds and scored five points.
- UC Riverside led 35-29 at halftime and outscored Alcorn State (0-7) 34-23 in the second half. The Highlanders dominated the boards, finishing with a 46-41 rebounding advantage, and scored 17 second-chance points.
- The Highlanders' defense held Alcorn State to just 31.3% shooting from the field and 22.2% from three-point range. UC Riverside converted 11 of 34 three-point attempts and shot 70% from the free-throw line, sealing their control of the game in the closing minutes.
- Barrington has scored in double-digits every game this season. This was his fourth 20+ point game.
