Balanced Scoring Gives Women’s Basketball Win over UC Davis

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside picked up its first home win over UC Davis since 2019-20 on Saturday afternoon at the SRC Arena with a 50-41 win over the Aggies.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • UC Riverside claimed the first quarter as its own in Saturday's matinee, blowing through the Aggie defense for a 13-5 advantage after a quarter. UCR sported a +5 turnover margin after one quarter and held UC Davis to 18.2% from the floor.
  • UCR spread its scoring evenly throughout the first half while forcing 16 turnovers.
  • The Highlanders put their foot squarely on the gas in the second half with a corner three from RyAnne Walters in front of the UCR bench, her second made three of the game that pushed the lead to double digits.
  • UC Riverside locked down the three-point line for the day, holding a three-happy UC Davis squad to just 6 of 27 from long range.
  • Walters and Makayla Jackson each sank a three in the fourth quarter, combining for eight points, three assists, two steals and a block in the final frame.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
