UCR Picks Up Pair of Singles Wins in Loss to Hornets

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside dropped a 5-2 decision to Sacramento State on Sunday morning at the SRC Tennis Courts, but not before grabbing a pair of singles wins.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Crystal Kim grabbed a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 while Kamya Nair won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3. 
  • Maya Youssef dropped set one at No. 2, but continued to battle through sets two and three with a pair of forced tie breaks.  

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Nair recorded her second collegiate win of the spring season, and Kim got back on track in singles play after being forced to retire in the Highlanders' previous match against New Mexico. 

UP NEXT 

  • UC Riverside returns to action on Tuesday, February 27 in a rescheduled match with Hope International at 2:00 p.m. from the SRC Tennis Courts.
