Hu, Singh Shoot Under Par on Day Two in Palm Desert

PALM DESERT, Calif. - UC Riverside climbed a spot on the leaderboard after another 18 holes at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Josh Hu was 2-under through four holes on the day following two of his six birdies on Wednesday. Hu was 3-under on the back nine with birdies on 14, 17 and 18.Â
- Kamaljit Singh successfully overcame a slow start for the second consecutive day and finished his round going 3-under for the final six holes, carding a 70 (-2) after being 1-under on both the front and back nine.Â
- UC Riverside recorded 19 birdies on day two in Palm Desert and shaved 10 strokes off its day one score.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Hu is in contention for a top-20 finish after jumping 21 spots on the leaderboard.Â
- Four of five Highlanders bested their scores from Tuesday's opening round.Â
- Singh made the biggest jump on the individual leaderboard for UCR, climbing 38 spots into a tie for 51st. The freshman posted his lowest score since carding a 68 (-4) the second round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in the fall.Â
