IRVINE, Calif. - UC Riverside dropped a 6-1 decision at UC Irvine on Thursday at the Anteater Tennis Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Crystal Kim and Maya Youssef tied doubles with a convincing 6-0 win at No. 2.
• Youssef forced her opponent into a tie break at No. 2 before falling 3-6, 6-7 (0-7)
• Kei Kato went down a set at No. 6, but rallied back for a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 win. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

• Kato improved to 1-1 in singles in Big West play, grabbing her first collegiate singles win in a dual match. 
• Kim and Youssef improved to 2-0 in doubles play in doubles play with the win at No. 2. The both of them individually improved to 2-1 in doubles.
