Highlanders Finish Strong on Day One of Redhawk Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - UC Riverside posted 11 birdies in round two for a strong finish to day one at the Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington. Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- UCR was 16-over after 18 holes, but just 2-over in a second-round resurgence.Â
- Josh Hu posted one of 15 sub-70 second rounds, carding a 68 (-3) as the Highlanders' current clubhouse leader with a tie for 28th. Â
- Chanhee Ryu was 1-over for his first eight holes of the day. Ryu was a bogey shy of a clean front nine in round two, going 1-over for his final 11 holes of the day. Â
- Kamaljit Singh posted three birdies on the back nine in each of his two rounds and was 4-under through his first eight holes of round two. Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTSÂ
- Hu's 68 (-3) was his first sub-70 round of the season, fall or spring. Â
- Hu was one of three Highlanders to either exceed or tie their lowest rounds of the season, joining Singh and Maddox Yi – both of whom shot a 72 (+1).Â
