RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside (13-28, 4-16 Big West) pulled out the dramatic 5-4 win over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday night at the Riverside Sports Complex to tie the Highlanders' penultimate home series at one game apiece.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• UC Riverside put four runs on the board in the second inning to go ahead with a 4-1 lead in the frame.  
• Rudy Rodriguez IV got the scoring going with an RBI double before advancing on a wild pitch that scored Dominic Martinez.  
• Rodriguez soon after completed his trip around the bases on a comebacker to the pitcher, and Anthony Mata delivered the frame's second RBI double to make it 4-1.  
• Nick Poss led off the fifth with a successful bunt back to the Bakersfield pitcher and advanced to second on a groundout up the middle.  
• Martinez delivered the Highlanders' third double on the night in the sixth on a 1-1 pitch that sailed down the right field line.  
• UCR played extras for the first time this year at the Plex, where the Highlanders used Tyler Gebb's continued hot pitching to leverage a scoreless top of the 10th.  
• Jayden Lopez drove in the winning run in the 10th on a bloop into center.  

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

• UC Riverside put a stop to a six-game losing streak with Saturday's win over the Roadrunners. 
• Gebb went 7.0 spectacular innings of relief work with three strikeouts, seven hits allowed and just one run allowed while picking up his fourth win for the season.
