LOS ANGELES – The Highlanders kicked off their 2025 campaign at LMU this afternoon. This was the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools. UCR dropped a tough one, 5-2. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• UCR dropped the doubles point with the senior pair of Aarav Sane and Ryan Huynh falling 6-4. Freshmen Caden Bell and Alexey Efremov made their Highlanders' debut. 
• Efremov made his Singles' debut winning his first collegiate set in the second (0-6, 2-6)
• Sane won his Singles' match 6-2, 6-2
• Huynh won what looked like the match of the day in three, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8)

UP NEXT

• The Highlanders next match will be in Las Vegas as they compete in the UNLV Quad. They will take on UNLV (Jan. 23), New Mexico State (Jan. 24) and Weber State (Jan. 25).
