Highlanders Come up Short Against Aggies

LAS VEGAS, Nev.- Day two of the UNLV Quad saw the Highlanders take on the Aggies of New Mexico State. Yesterday, UCR dropped its match to the host school, UNLV, 6-1 and they looked to bounce back. New Mexico State came into the match at 1-4. This was the 13th time these two teams met, with UCR's last win coming in 2023 at the UNLV Quad.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Highlanders dropped the doubles matches, 0-2 with Alexey Efremov and Lucas Mszyca's match going unfinished. Aarav Sane and Ryan Huynh dropped a close one losing 4-6.
  • Huynh pushed his match to three sets: 1-6, 6-5, UF.
  • Sane also pushed his match to three sets: 6-3, 2-6, UF.
UP NEXT
  • The final match in Las Vegas for the Highlanders will be Saturday, January 25 at 10 a.m., when they take on Weber State. From there UC Riverside will travel to Flagstaff, Ariz., for matches against Air Force and Northern Arizona.
