FULLERTON, Calif. – The Highlanders started a two-game road trip at Cal State Fullerton tonight with UCR looking for a second conference win. Coming off the 3-0 win over Sacramento State, the Highlanders were hoping the offense would be there against a tough Titans team.
UCR's first chance of the game came in the 6' as
Wes Hastings put one on target, but Asger Hemmer made a diving save at the left side of the net.
Both teams would have shots, but non were on goal over the next 15 minutes. That changed when UCR's
Tarek Hamideh had a chance, but again Hemmer came up with the save.
The Titans got on the board first in the 44' giving Cal State Fullerton a 1-0 lead, which is how the first half ended.
Cal State Fullerton struck early in the second to grab a 2-0 lead.
It would remain, 2-0, nearly the rest of the game until
Jackson D'Alessandro found the back of the net for the second time this season. That goal came in the 88' off an assist by
Jona Martinez.
Next up for the Highlanders is a trip to UC Davis to take on the Aggies on Saturday night. Kickoff is at 7PM.
