SAN JACINTO, Calif. – The UC Riverside women's golf team is set to host its first home tournament since 2020, welcoming seven teams to Soboba Springs Golf Course at Soboba Casino Resort from February 7-9.
Â
This marks the Highlanders' first-time hosting at the prestigious course, with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. each day.
Â
The field will feature 41 players from seven teams: UC Riverside, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Northridge, Eastern Washington, and the University of British Columbia.
Â
UCR last attempted to host a tournament in 2020, with 19 teams scheduled to compete in the Battle at the Rock, but extreme high winds forced its cancellation. Now, with favorable conditions expected, the Highlanders look forward to a successful return to home-hosted competition.
Â
In preparation for the main event, UC Riverside took on UC Irvine in the second annual UC Crown, a dual match at Soboba where the Highlanders came out with a 14-6 victory. The Highlanders also claimed win in the inaugural UC Crown last year at Victoria Club and aim to defend their title.
Â
With a strong field and an exciting week of competition ahead, UCR is eager to make its mark on home turf and establish Soboba Springs as a premier venue for collegiate golf.
