Softball Completes Sweep of Cal State Bakersfield

Davis goes 4 for 4 to help UCR sweep Roadrunners

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside (14-14, 5-1 Big West) completed a three-game sweep of Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday morning at Amy S. Harrison Field with a 5-3 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Davis scored on a sac fly from Mariana Palazuelos later in the frame.
  • Bakersfield went down quietly before UCR tacked on its third early run.
  • The Roadrunners tied things up in the fourth with three runs, and the Highlanders counted with a bases-loaded threat in the bottom half in the frame.
  • Eta Lauti broke the game open in the fifth with a two-out, two-run double to left center before Maddie Heinlin shut the door with back-to-back one-two-three innings to end it.
