IRVINE, Calif. - Fresh off its win over San Diego State, UCR found itself against the No. 17 ranked UC Irvine Anteaters. While the Highlanders snapped their eight game losing streak when they topped the Aztecs, they were on a current six game skid in conference play. They were swept against both UC Davis and Cal State Fullerton. 

This evening it was all Anteaters. It started in the first inning with a three spot for UCI and a quick 3-0 lead. Then in the second, the Anteaters scored seven runs on a couple of singles and with the game at 10-0, UCI was in full control.

The Highlanders pushed their lone run across in the fifth when David Gibbs scored on an Isaiah Hernandez sac-fly to center.
