RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Highlanders returned to action at the SRC Tennis Courts as they hosted Temple. UCR was coming off a great win last week defeating Azusa Pacific, 4-2, which was APU's first loss in 26 matches. This was the second all-time meeting against Temple, with the last meeting coming back in 2009, a 6-1 loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Temple took the doubles point winning two of the three matches. Justin Lamy and Ryan Huynh's match went unfinished tied, 4-4. The other two double matches were close, but the Highlanders could not break through.
- Lamy won his match in three sets:Â 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. He battled against Temple's No. 1 player and really had control over the match when he got rolling in set 2.
- Huynh had a battle on his hands, as his match ended up in a three set victory: 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.Â
