
UC Riverside Wins Seattle U Redhawk Invitational in Playoff Thriller

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — The UC Riverside Highlanders capped off an incredible tournament run with a final-round score of 276 (-8), tying St. Thomas for first place at the end of regulation and clinching the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational title with a one-hole playoff victory at the iconic Chambers Bay Golf Course.

- Hartej Grewal closed out a sensational week with his second round of 69, finishing third overall at -5. Grewal secured an eagle in hole 1 while collecting four bogies in the final round.
- Chanhee Ryu was electric on Tuesday, also firing a 3-under 69 to move up 12 spots into sixth at even par. Ryu birdied holes 1, 10, 12, 15 and 18 on the final round.Â
- Liam Hartling joined the final-round 69 club and jumped 15 spots into the top 10 at +1 total, finishing ninth overall. Hartling also shot an eagle on the 5-par hole 1, while grabbing four birdies.Â
- Von Wasson delivered his best performance of the tournament with a 69 (-3) of his own, vaulting 25 spots to finish tied for 25th at +5.Â
- Stephen Luo rounded out the lineup with a 76 (+4), finishing tied for 78th at +15.Â
- After tying St. Thomas at even par for the tournament, the Highlanders emerged victorious in a one-hole team playoff to secure the championship — their first win of the season.
- All four scoring Highlanders shot 69 (-3) in the final round.
- UC Riverside posted the lowest team round of the tournament (276).
- The Highlanders made two eagles and 20 birdies in the final round.
- UC Riverside looks to carry this momentum into the Gaucho Invitational, from April 7th–8th in Santa Barbara.
