FRESNO, Calif. – The UC Riverside Highlanders closed out a strong showing at Copper River Country Club with a final-round 292 (+4) to finish second overall at 883 (+19).
Sophia Luna capped the tournament with a 3-under 69, while
Mitzi Duarte secured runner-up finish at 4-under.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mitzi Duarte, the 36-hole leader, posted a final-round 72 (E) to finish the week at 212 (-4), good to finish tied for second place. Her tournament featured 10 total birdies and three rounds of par or better.
- Sophia Luna surged in the final round with a 69 (-3) that included five birdies and just two bogeys. She climbed seven spots to finish tied for 7th at 220 (+4).
- Maleyna Gregorio turned in a 75 (+3) on Tuesday, finishing tied for 19th at 229 (+13) after going 79-75-75.
- Janna Andaya closed with a 76 (+4), landing tied for 17th at 228 (+12). Her 70 in Round 2 was a tournament highlight.
- Sofia Vargas finished with a 78 (+6) for a three-round total of 234 (+18) and a tie for 22nd.
- Gabrielle Kiger (IND) recorded her best round of the tournament with a 74 (+2) in Round 3, finishing tied for 19th at 229 (+13).
