SAN DIEGO, Calif. - UC Riverside took on Hawai'i in the first round of the 2025 Big West Women's Tennis Championship at the Barnes Tennis Center. The Highlanders and the Rainbow Wahine played earlier this year, with UCR losing 6-1. That match saw UCR drop the doubles point, 2-1 and two of the three singles matches go to three sets.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The doubles point went to Hawai'i. The match featuring Crystal Kim and Niki Shahbazi went unfinished with the Highlanders up, 5-4.
- In singles competition three of the matches went unfinished: Kei Kato, Crystal Kim and Sam Condevillamar. Kato and Condevillamar were down one set to none, but could have pushed theirs to a third set. Kim was up one set to none and that match looked like it was going to a third set.
With the loss the season is complete and the Highlanders look to get back to work for next season.
