
UC Riverside Shoots -4 in Final Round of Big West Championship

LA QUINTA, Calif. — The UC Riverside Highlanders closed out the 2025 Big West Championship with their best round of the tournament, recording a 4-under 284 on Tuesday at La Quinta Country Club. The Highlanders finished in 12th place with a three-round total of 887 (+23).

- Hartej Grewal shot a 67 (-5), tying his career best for the lowest round by a Highlander this week. He made five birdies and no bogeys to finish tied for 42nd at 222 (+6).
- Liam Hartling followed with a 69 (-3) and finished as UCR's top individual at 218 (+2), tied for 21st. His round included five birdies with only two bogeys.
- Stephen Luo shot 73 (+1) and also tied for 42nd at 222 (+6). Luo birdied hole 13 every round of this tournament.
- Von Wasson recorded a 75 (+3) to finish 53rd at 229 (+13).
- Entering in as a sub for Chanhee Ryu, Mark Gao carded an 83 (+11).
- UC Riverside's 284 was their lowest round of the championship by 15 strokes.
- All four scoring players shot 75 or better in the final round.
- The Highlanders wrapped up the 2024–25 season with a team title at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational and a runner-up finish at the Van Harte OC Intercollegiate.
