RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Chelsea Aninyei has been named the Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced Tuesday by the Big West.  

This is UC Riverside Track & Field's first weekly conference honor since 2023 and first in field since 2022. 

Aninyei recorded two event wins and a second-place finish at the Chris Rinne Invitational this past weekend at the UCR Track Stadium. She posted a lifetime-best 5.99m (19' 8") in the long jump for the win, also placing first in the high jump with a 1.62m (5-03.75). The redshirt sophomore wrapped up her impressive weekend with a 12.35m (40-06.25) in the triple jump.  

Aninyei picked up her third Big West qualifier of the season with her long jump mark while taking the lead on UCR's outdoor performance list in the event. In the polls, her long jump mark at Chris Rinne now ranks 28th in the Division I West Region and ninth in the Big West.
