Huynh, Lamy and Yu Earn Big West Honors

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside had three members of the tennis program honored by The Big West Conference today. Justin Lamy and Ryan Huynh were men's tennis honorable mentions and Ramey Yu was selected to the Women's Second Team All-Big West.

Justin Lamy played on court one all year and battled. He was second on the team in singles' match wins. He was named as an honorable mention for singles play.

Lamy and fellow senior Ryan Huynh were named as honorable mention selections as a doubles team in 2025. As a team, they led the Highlanders in doubles matches victories and predominately played on court 1. Their biggest doubles match win came against No. 39 UC Santa Barbara on April 7.

"Fantastic accomplishment by Ryan and Justin," said UC Riverside coach Mattias Johansson. "Once they were teamed up together they proved to me that it was the right choice, and they played better and better throughout the season – well deserved."

From the women's team freshman Ramey Yu was selected to the Second Team All-Big West for singles play. Yu led the team with a 10-7 singles record and at one point during the season she won eight of ten matches (two went unfinished). She started the year playing on court 2, but was elevated to court on February 4 against Concordia University Irvine. Three of her wins were against Big West opponents.

"Ramey's accomplishments are very impressive," said Johansson. "Being a freshman and playing number one for us and having a MVP season with a record of ten wins, it is truly a remarkable achievement."

"Very proud of Ramey."
