RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside Baseball looks to the season's final week while Track & Field gears up for the Big West Championships this week.
Head coach Justin Johnson and UCR Baseball will hit the Central Coast for its final series of 2025 when the Highlanders take on Cal Poly this weekend at Baggett Stadium. UCR will look to end the season on a high note on Thursday (6:00 pm), Friday (6:00 pm), and Saturday (1:00 pm).
UC Riverside Track & Field is primed and ready for hardware this weekend at the 2025 Big West Track & Field Championships, this Friday and Saturday at Long Beach State's Jack Rose Track. Live results will be available on FinishedResults.com, and meet info can be found at BigWest.org.

Pitts closed out the home season in style, hitting .400 with a .571 OB%, .500 SLG, two stolen bases, and five total bases against Long Beach State.

In Case You Missed It...
- UCR Athletics formally introduced Gus Argenal as the newest head coach of UC Riverside Men's Basketball.
- Last week was Big West awards galore for UC Riverside Athletics. Hartej Grewal was named Second Team All-Big West and Big West Freshman of the Year, while Maddie Heinlin's masterful final season in the circle earned her First Team All-Big West honors. Kamryn Davis and Rebeca Cabezas were also named All-Big West Honorable Mention.
- Robert Pitts hit .400 in UC Riverside's final 2025 series at the Riverside Sports Complex. Pitts also posted a .571 on-base percentage, slugged .500, stole two bases, and recorded five total bases in three games against Long Beach State.
- Deven Martin and Mateo Garcia each took big steps in personal improvement at Friday's Titan Tune-Up in UCR Track & Field's final regular season meet. Martin recorded his longest discus throw since the 2023 Big West Championships, while Garcia notched his second shot put of 16 meters in 2025 and second in the last three meets.
