RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside cross country hosted the 44th Annual UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday at the Ag Ops Course, with both the women's and men's teams facing strong regional competition across multiple divisions.
WOMEN'S XC
UC Riverside women's cross country earned a seventh-place finish at the 44th Annual UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday morning at the Ag Ops Course, totaling 244 points in the 6-kilometer invitational race
The Highlanders were led by
Isatu N'Diaye, who placed 12th overall in 20 minutes, 47 seconds.
Ingrid Tamayo crossed in 54th at 21:22.8, with
Nicole Alfred close behind in 57th at 21:26.2.
Alexis Corvese secured 63rd in 21:28.4, and
Joy Weber rounded out the scoring five in 70th at 21:31.3.
Additional depth came from
Meztli Velazquez in 98th at 21:46.4 and
Anna Field in 113th at 21:53.0.
Victoria Valenzuela (146th, 22:14.6),
Sophie Moser-Smith (156th, 22:21.9), and
Zaida Velazquez (164th, 22:27.5) also contributed to UCR's strong showing.
WOMEN'S XC OPEN
Kianna Le led the Highlanders with a 32nd-place finish, clocking 18 minutes, 34 seconds.
Marissa Hehir followed in 45th at 18:47.7, while
Lily Woolery crossed 57th in 18:56.0.
MEN'S XC
UC Riverside men's cross country finished 16th overall at the Ag Ops Course, totaling 366 points in the 8-kilometer invitational.
San Francisco claimed the team championship with 33 points, followed by Long Beach State (170) and Pomona-Pitzer (173).
The Highlanders were led by
Omar Fabila, who placed 53rd overall in 24 minutes, 45 seconds.
Eshaan Hussain followed in 71st at 24:56.4, with
Jordan Herrera crossing 87th in 25:07.7.
Baptiste Garderes took 108th in 25:18.2, and
Kai Marotta rounded out the scoring five in 121st at 25:26.7.
Additional Highlander finishers included
Finn Babbitt in 142nd at 25:40.8,
Jarron Chua in 154th at 25:43.2,
Caleb Pascua in 189th at 26:19.6, and
Logan Harding in 218th at 27:39.3.
