Oregon Tops UCR in Season Opener

EUGENE, Ore. – The Highlanders opened up the 2026 season at Oregon taking on the Ducks this weekend. UCR last played Oregon in 2023 with the Ducks winning 7-0. Today was tough for the Highlanders as they dropped their opening match, 7-0.

- The Highlanders dropped the doubles point 3-0.
- In singles competition Michael Chang, making his Highlanders' debut lost in three, 6-2, 3-6, 4-6.
- Owen Pearson made his debut for UCR dropping his first set 7-5, and retired in the second at 5-5.Â
- Four freshman competed for the Highlanders today with three of them playing in singles competition.Â
