RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Highlanders welcomed Sacramento State to the SRC Tennis Courts for a double header with the soon to be Big West foes. These two matches were the first of three against the Hornets this year, with the third coming later when UCR travels to Northern California to play UC Davis.
The Highlanders fought hard but dropped the two matches. They now are 0-4 on the young year.
How it happened:
- The Highlanders dropped both doubles points in straight sets.
- In the first match both Michael Chang and Andrew Lavine took their matches to three sets. Both went unfinished.
- In the first match Jovan Pedroza's match went unfinished as the second set was tied 6-6.
- In the second match the singles matches featuring Pedroza, Lavine and Ivaylo Simeonov all went unfinished.
- Noris Nedelcovici made his home debut in the second match falling 6-0, 6-4.
