Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. — UC Riverside closed out the 2026 season Saturday afternoon on Senior Day, honoring Eta Lauti, Jen Ragay, Isabel McElroy, Jackie Alday and Rebeca Cabezas before a 6-1 setback to Hawai'i at Amy S. Harrison Field.
The Highlanders (6-38) collected eight hits in the finale, with Trendee Kahunahana leading the way by going 2 for 3 with a double, a walk and the team's lone RBI. Taylor Wren added two hits, while Leilani Juan, Cabezas, Arianna Saldivar and McElroy also recorded hits.
UC Riverside kept the game tight through four innings behind Emory Cheng, who worked into the sixth inning in the circle. The Highlanders also put runners on throughout the afternoon, including in the third when Wren singled and Kahunahana walked, and again in the fifth when Wren and Kahunahana each delivered hits to put two in scoring position.
Hawai'i scored once in the second inning, added three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
The Highlanders broke through in the seventh. Saldivar and McElroy opened the inning with back-to-back singles before Kahunahana drove in Saldivar with a single to right-center. Eta Lauti was then hit by a pitch to load the bases, but Hawai'i was able to work out of the inning.
The Highlanders conclude the 2025 season with an overall 6-38 and Big West conference record of 4-23.
