Andy Lozano joined the UC Riverside Baseball Coaching Staff as a volunteer assistant in August of 2014 before becoming the team's director of community relations in 2015.
A 1980 graduate of Santiago High School, Lozano excelled in track, football, baseball and basketball. He would go on to play baseball in Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
His coaching career began in 1992 at the University of Redlands where he was charged with working with the team's outfielders. More recently, Lozano was the outfield coach at Poly High School from 2008-10, and at Moreno Valley High School from 2012-13.
Lozano is also a respected businessman in Southern California, having owned and operated a commercial plumbing company, Plumbing Masters, with his brother Felipe for three decades.
In his spare time, Lozano enjoys lifting weights, playing golf, basketball and baseball, and is a third degree black belt in Kempo Karate.
He and his wife Lauri have five daughters—Jennifer, Heather, Lauren, Anna and Lola—and a son, Ryan, who serves our country in the Navy. Andy and Lauri have resided in Riverside for the past 30-plus years.
