Chez Sievers joined the Highlanders softball staff as an assistant coach in September 2012 after previously serving as volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, Texas, during the 2012 season.
She joined the Longhorns' staff after spending the 2011 season as an assistant coach at Big West Conference rival Cal State Fullerton.
After a decorated career with the Longhorns, Sievers served as a volunteer assistant at Texas in the fall of 2006 before graduating and embarking on a career in the private sector. During her time away from the collegiate game she maintained ties to the softball community as a coach with the San Diego Strokes and California Cruisers club programs.
As a collegian, Sievers was a three-time All-Big 12 selection and the league's Freshman of the Year in 2003. She helped Texas to three berths in the Women's College World Series (2003, 2005-06), two Big 12 titles (2003, 2006) and two Big 12 tournament crowns (2003, 2005).
A three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection and a 2005 all-region and Easton All-America selection, Sievers finished her career hitting .285 with 63 runs scored and 51 extra base hits, including 12 home runs and 87 RBI.
