Franny Morlet joined the UC Riverside Softball Coaching Staff in September of 2009 following one year as an undergraduate assistant at Long Beach State and a four-year playing career at The Beach.
With Morlet's assistance, the 49ers went 35-21 in 2009 including a 15-6 mark and third place finish in the Big West which earned them a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
During her playing days, Morlet helped Long Beach State to two Big West Conference championships (2005 and 2008), and three trips to the NCAAs.
Morlet finished her career with a .250 batting average and a .972 fielding percentage. The speedy left-hander was also 18-for-22 in stolen base attempts.
As a senior, Morlet led the 49ers to their sixth Big West title and 18th NCAA Regional appearance. The All-Big West Honorable Mention selection played in 41 games, starting 32 times as an outfielder. Morlet hit for a career-high .264 clip with 14 runs scored.
While at CSULB, Morlet helped develop the Senior Excellence Program which mentors graduating student-athletes through their transition after sports.
Morlet prepped at St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs, CA, where she was a four-year letter winner and three-time all-league selection (2002-04). Morlet was tabbed the Del Rey League MVP as a junior and senior, while also being selected to the Press-Telegram Dream Team.
Morlet earned her bachelor's degree in human development and sociology in 2009.
