Teron Uy, former Interim Head Volleyball Coach at Seattle University, joined UC Riverside's Volleyball program as an assistant coach in August of 2013.
Uy began his coaching career interning for Head Coach Bill Neville and his volleyball staff at Washington from 1994-97. In 1999, Uy served as Volleyball Head Coach at Skyline High School for one season, earning Eastside Coach of the Year honors in 2000 as he led the team to a seventh place finish in the state.
He returned to Washington in 2001 as technical director and became the volunteer assistant from 2003-05, in which the team reached the Sweet 16 and Final Four in 2003 and 2004 respectively. His experience at Washington also included training 2012 U.S. Olympic team member Courtney Thompson.
In 2005, Uy headed to Wyoming as assistant volleyball coach. For three seasons, Uy assisted the Cowgirls in improving both their team defense and hitting efficiency. During his experience at Wyoming, Uy also served as adminstrator of summer camps and assisted in recruiting, scheduling, and opponent scouting and reporting.
From 2008-13, Uy became assistant volleyball coach at Seattle under former Head Coach Shannon Ellis, as well as a period where he was named interim head coach. There, Uy helped the Redhawks with on-court performance, such as team training, practice design, implementation and assessment. His work also included recruitment of future student-athletes for the volleyball program.
As a graduate of Santa Clara, Uy is co-founder of the Sudden Impact Volleyball club and served as its technical director from 1998-2005.
