League-Leading Titans Too Much For UC Riverside Volleyball

Fullerton, CA - The UC Riverside volleyball team concluded the road portion of its 2010 schedule on Saturday evening with a 3-0 loss to league-leading Cal State Fullerton, 25-14, 25-16, and 26-24.
After dropping the first two sets, the Highlanders were at set-point 24-21 in the third. The Titans proved why they're leading the Big West, however, as they used three kills and two blocks to score five straight points, closing out the set and match 26-24.
Tied at two in the first set, CSF rallied off nine consecutive to open up the set at 11-2. The Titans were in control the rest of the way as they won 25-14.
In the second set, UCR found themselves down 9-4, but used kills by Chelsee Arnitz, Amanda Vialpando, and Bianca Endersby to spark a 5-0 run to tie the set at nine.
The Highlanders stayed close and were down 13-12 a few points later, but the Titans again went on a run to open up the set 18-12 en route to a 25-16 victory.
Vialpando led UC Riverside with nine kills while Endersby added seven.
The Highlanders conclude the 2010 season with two home games beginning next Friday, Nov. 19 against Cal Poly at 7:30 pm at the Student Recreation Center.
