Game Notes Tournament Bracket
With a win in the quarterfinals against Cal State Fullerton on Thursday, the UC Riverside women’s basketball team is set to face off against Cal Poly in the semifinals on Friday at 2:30 pm in Big West Conference Tournament action at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Fans may tune in to the Voice of the Highlanders, Ghizal Hasan, as he calls the play-by-play beginning at 2:20 pm right here on gohighlanders.com.
The Mustangs knocked the Highlanders out of contention a year ago in the conference tournament, and since then, the team’s have each won a game against the other on their respective home floors.
Cal Poly and UC Riverside both tied for second in regular season conference play, but because of a tie breaker, the Mustangs got the benefit of the No. 2 seed and a bye into the semifinals.
If the Highlanders win in the semis, they will advance to the championship game on Saturday for the third time in five years, and a chance to make it to the Big Dance.
